E-safety - Our Vision
At Meadowside we recognise the increasing impact the internet and online world has on everyday life. It is our responsibility to prepare children for a future where technology and the virtual world will be a massive part of their everyday lives. Through our computing curriculum we teach children how to safely navigate and effectively use the internet and a range of ways to communicate and connect with others virtually such as blogs, emails and social media platforms ( if appropriate) .The content we teach is designed to be age appropriate and prepares children for what they may encounter as they use the internet and various devices throughout their childhood and into adolescence. We receive regular updates on new trends, apps or games being played by children in school so we can have discussions and educate our children around potential dangers and how to avoid these. Each year group has a key set of Learning Objectives, Key questions and key vocabulary to scaffold and support learning Below is an example of the knowledge children will learn about online safety in Year 3.
